My first sale!

This little watercolour painting of a human eye sold at a recent charity art auction in aid of the Kirkby Lonsdale fire recovery fund.

The quaint old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale in south-east Cumbria was devastated by fire in December 2024. One person died, and over 80 businesses and homes were damaged or destroyed. In order to try to repair the damage a community fund was set up, and the auction was part of this.

The sale was held by 1818 Auctioneers who kindly waived their usual auction fees. It featured over 150 works of art and raised an impressive £10,000 on the night. I’m so proud that my little picture not only helped towards that total, but went to a really good home too!
