This was the very first time I realised I could draw, and it was all thanks to a super demonstration/workshop at Windermere Art Society earlier this year. The session involved using charcoal to draw faces and it really clicked – so much so that I produced this drawing of ballet dancer Rudolph Nureyev in about half an hour. And thoroughly surprised myself in the process!
The image might look a little strange, but the photo I was working from was of Rudolph in full make-up for a ballet role! Sadly, I don’t have details of who took the original photograph. If you recognise it, please get in touch so I can credit you.
