Sketching by Windermere

The forecast yesterday afternoon was for thunderstorms – absolutely typical as Windermere Art Society had an outdoor art session arranged. It didn’t look too threatening, though, so a handful of us went for it and had a smashing time.

After one brief shower it cleared up and was warm and sunny enough to give me sunburn! We sat outside at a picnic table at the Jetty Museum on the shores of Windermere, chatting, drinking tea/coffee, and sketching the wonderful view up the lake.

My own effort, in fibre tip pen, was of the wooden pods on the lake shore, which made really interesting shapes.
