We had a super walk over Birkrigg Common near Ulverston this morning – it’s a mixture of moorland and limestone pavement with a stone circle and amazing views of Morecambe Bay and the Lakeland fells.
Coming back, we got slightly lost in a maze of narrow lanes and I fell in love with these gorgeous old farm buildings somewhere between Birkrigg, Urswick and Ulverston. I managed to grab a quick photo while OH was turning the car around and sketched it this evening.
The whole area still has something of a ‘lost’ feel to it!
