Lots of bird art

We visited the wonderful bird art exhibition at Rheged (near Penrith) the other day and were blown away. I’d expected to see some great art and that was there in spades with original paintings, prints, sculpture, needlecraft etc. But there was also so much more – legends about birds, poetry about birds, facts about birds, photos of birds… It was really fascinating and inspiring and well worth a visit for the £3 entry fee. 😊

These little birdies are actually at Blackwell (the arts and crafts house near Bowness). I sketched them after our trip there last week. So not at Rheged at all. But they seemed very appropriate so I thought I’d use them anyway!
