Last week’s session at Windermere Art Society was absolutely fascinating – a workshop on layering pastels over watercolour.
We each took along a watercolour painting we weren’t overly happy with, and lovely local artist Shahida Dolan showed us how to add texture, depth and definition by layering soft pastels straight on top of the watercolour.
The process certainly brought this previously rather drab little lake scene to life, and I’m looking forward to trying to resuscitate a few more ruined paintings!
